Hi everybody,
Can somebody help me with nero 6? Something is not working, I can read and write DVDs with Nero. I can also write audio CDs with other burning programs (Roxio is also installed on my notebook) but not with Nero. So something is wrong with Nero on my notebook, and it's not the hardware.

Suggestion: I could turn on Nero Aspi in Nero Info Tool, would that help? Instead of System Aspi, which is not installed which I'm told is correct under windows XP. Would that help?

I have tried updating everything (firmware of the burner, PIONEER DVR-K16D) and Nero to latest version of Nero 6.

I use Windows XP Pro, Sony Vaio Noteboox with Intel Pentium M processor.

Attached is the logfile (it's quite long) of the error (of the burn that resulted in an error).

Any help or suggestions would be very welcome.

Do you have Roxio Drag to CD or Nero InCD running? If so, turn them off and try again.

No, I only have Nero Express v6. And Roxio Digital Media, but not Roxio "drag to cd".
There is a "Windows xp"-based "drag to CD"-type of program (I guess, is there such a thing?) which I thought I turned off but appears to be back on (probably because of updating the firmware). I've switched that back off now.

However, I am not able to test the CD-text explanation, because Nero Express (as far as I know) does not allow turning off CD-text. I do not understand what DMA had to do with it. Does switching off DMA change anything to what-happens-when-you-try-to-write-CDtext?

The problem might well be CD-text, however, since the other burning program (ROXIO) is working properly. (It doesn't use CD-text, or not by default anyway).

So: does anybody know how to switch off CD-text in Nero Express v6? Using command line options, maybe?
