Need urgent help: terrible quality from self-created VCD

Hi fellows, kinda got myself into unknown territory here...

Background:
I created a .wmv file from a collection of photos using PhotoStory 3. The resolution is in 1024 * 768, Video data rate is at 78kbps & video sample size is 24bit. I used Nero(vision) to create a VCD, but when playing the VCD on my TV(using a VCD player), the quality of those photos're absolutely terrible.

I did tried playing the original .wmv file on my laptop & it is proper quality. Is there something I did wrong in the process, while burning the file via Nero? Or is it simply because any creation into a VCD will auto result in terrible quality, & if I choose to burn into a DVD the playback quality(via TV) will be able to equal what I see using the video file playback on my computer???

Pls help me...probably I'll need some proper video authoring guide...absolutely format/encoding noob here

Re: Need urgent help: terrible quality from self-created VCD

VCD has a very lower resolution.
Try to convert to DVD.
