| Re: Joliet & Mode 1 Greyed out "Help" @ justmates Once you use DVDShrink to prep and save the files, you should be able to use Nero Express to burn the saved video files. Open 'NeroExpress' and select 'dvd video files'. A window will appear with a 'video ts' file and an 'audio ts' file. Double click the 'video ts' file and it will open and be empty. Now click the 'add' button and a browser window opens. Find the file you saved in DVDShrink and drag-and-drop the entire folder that contains the video you wish to burn. The dragged folder should disappear, leaving its contents(*.vob, *.ifo, *.bup files) in the 'video ts' file window. Now you can select 'next' and burn away. If this doesn't help, can you post an error log of the failed burn? Save as a text file, then remove your serial number and post using the 'manage attachments' button in the 'go advanced' reply window.

| Re: Joliet & Mode 1 Greyed out "Help" I assumed the problem might be media, however I have tried a number of different disc and all do the same in Nero, so it cant be ONLY a media problem. I installed Apollo and it burn my dvd with NO problems at all last night also installed copytodvd and it worked pretty good too so Nero is up the shit somewhere??? Any other suggestions as to why nero wont burn. Also installed roxio earlier and was given an error that my drive couldnt be found, I wonder if the drive is playing up? Thanks for your help |

| Re: Joliet & Mode 1 Greyed out "Help" @ justmates Try running the Nero registry checker and driver clean tool after removing the Roxio software. Roxio and Nero rarely play nice together.

| Re: Joliet & Mode 1 Greyed out "Help" This option isnt going to work so not sure its even worth giving a try. I had a complete format done on my computer a few days back, computer needed it as well as trying to correct a few problems. So XP was a clean install, all I had on my system was the basic XP, dvd shrink, dvd decrypt and Nero and it was playing hell with the dvd, burns coasters even quicker now. I did a Kprobe scan but no idea how to get the picture on here, odd that it writes DVDs in other software programs??? Surely things should be this complicated to get the stupid thing to work? |

| Re: Joliet & Mode 1 Greyed out "Help" I am having the same problem. I am using TY fuji discs which worked fine with the trial version of Nero but now I have paid for it and upgraded to the latest version - nothing but coasters.

| Re: Joliet & Mode 1 Greyed out "Help" Can anyone tell me why when burning DVD-Video the disc title is checked for a Joliet name? I don't see anywhere I can change the disc format setting and it's always limiting me to 16 char disc names. For what it's worth here's the way the log looks... Iso document burn settings ------------------------------------------ Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : TRUE Multisession : FALSE Burning mode : DAO Mode : 1 ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet : TRUE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : TRUE Allow more than 255 characters in path : TRUE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE Joliet set to true and names at 11? where do I change this? Write method is greyed out at DAO, i suspect this is correct for DVD... Last edited by Jeff D; 04-05-2005 at 01:42. |
