| invalid field in parameter Nero 5 & 6 Sony DRU-510A Whenever I try to burn an auido cd I get this message - "invalid field in parameter - Could not perform start of Disc-at-Once". This all started a couple of days ago. I was making back ups of my daughter's DVDs and succesfully copied about 10 of them then Nero hung at 6%. I restarted the computer and tried the burn again. It hung at 6%. Not wanting to waste DVD-Rs I decided to try and burn a music CD, that is when I started getting the afore mentioned error. I've tried uninstalling the nforce chipset drivers, installing older versions, using only microsoft default chipset drivers, updating aspi drivers, changing the IDE cable, having the drive set as master and slave, setting the drive to PIO mode in the BIOS and in Windows or PIO mode in BIOS and DMA in Windows, DMA in BIOS and PIO in Windows, etc. I've bought another Sony DRU-510a and have the same problem. I can burn with a plextor 40X CD-RW but the last track is unreadable. I've tried every version of 6 that I could find and I've tried my old copy of 5.5, I've also tried formating the hard drive and running nero on a clean install of XP. Any ideas are appreciated. Here are my system specs - all firmaware, BIOSes, drivers and software ar up to the latest version as of 11-23-03 Noon EST. | Still not completely working even after 6.3 update. However, all DVDs seem to burn fine now and I can get audio CDs to overburn with an older plextor CD-RW that I re-installed. Incidently, I also tried reformatting and using Easy CD-Creator 6 to no avail. It has to be something with ahead and Nvidia chipsets. I wish they would stop pointing fingers and fix it. This reminds me of the crap between Soundblaster Live and Via chipsets a few years back. It is times like these that I wish I could put up with a Mac. |

| Re: invalid field in parameter Nero 5 & 6 Sony DRU-510A Hello! I also had the same problem and i figure it out. As i saw it's a hardware problem concerning your dvd-writer.(I have Nero in Linux) The solution i have is this(it's not permanent but it works): Just turn off the combuter. Then close the I/O switch. Open it again Boot Everytime that i follow that steps i see that the problem "dissapears"and i can burn everything ![]() |
