Help, gone through 20 coasters now. Nero suddenly stopped working... - Club CDFreaks

I have tried the reg clean up tools from Ahead's site, upgraded to the latest 6.3.x, and uninstall/reinstalled the application several times. It has been working, then suddenly stopped. Other CD authoring applications seem to work, but I would like to continue using Nero. Here is the log from a sample burn...

Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? I would like to continue using Nero, if someone can figure out the problem.

Did your problems start after you installed RecordNow?
Sometimes there are conflicts between Nero and Prassi programs...

What is "RecordNow"? As far as I know, I did not install any additional burning software.

Have you installed Drag-to-Disc by Roxo or INCD by Nero. When I did that, my DVD burning stopped working through Nero. After I went through a lot of coaster like you and undid everything I could remember before it was working, I found out that Drag-to-Disc was the problem. I've found out that these packet writing software are always polling the CD/DVD drive which makes is unavailable for other programs to use and will result in an error when try to use them. If you remove either of these you should be ok. You don't have to remove the whole suite, just these two programs or whatever packet writing software you may have installed.

Are you using the same media all the time? Try using different media, this sounds like a "bad media" problem (could not mount for verify). It's also possible that your drive's bad, I had this once myself with a bad DVD burner. Writing seemed OK, but the written CD/DVD's couldn't be mounted.

Try your burner in another computer, when possible.
