Help with burning projects to disc Okay, I have nero 6 nero express on my computer. And for some reason lately every time I go to make burn a movie project to disc. It goes through the transcoding process without a hitch, and then when it goes to burn the project to disc. I get a insert disc message. It tells me that the disc is either corrupt or it isn't blank. But I've put in at least 5 blank dvd disc. and it keeps showing up again and again. What am I doing wrong here. It goes through the whole process and then it doesn't recognize the disc. This is a recent nuisance that is just starting to happen. Two months ago I was able to burn projects with ease. But lately it keeps giving me this message. Someone please help! I use Windows XP for anyone who wants to ask.

Re: Help with burning projects to disc You're welcome ![]() Try with a better media, verbatim for example (NOT the pearl white series; these are low quality discs): Memorex are not good quality discs ![]()

Re: Help with burning projects to disc You're welcome ![]() Memorex sells discs with different mediacodes: even if you buy discs with the same brand, it's possible that now you have discs with a different mediacode, and also with lower quality. You can retrieve disc mediacode using cd-dvd speed or dvd identifier, both free tools.

Re: Help with burning projects to disc Okay I have some updates: first I'm not using nero 6 it's nerovision nero 7. I am finding out that ever since I updated to nero 7 it keeps giving me the message when I go to burn a project to a dvd-r. Now I bought some maxell discs today and once again it has given me the same song and dance. Now I checked the device manager to see if my dvd recorder was malfunctioning or not. But it tells me that it works just fine. Also what's strange is that when I put a blank dvd in the recorder drive and I go to my computer to view my stats for the blank disc it gives me this bit of information: free space: 0 bytes used space: 0 bytes What's going on here?!?! Is the driver just not recognizing the media type or is there a nother problem that I'm having. Please help me! Should I go back and downgrade to nero 6 again. Or is there some settings that I can configure in the currrent version that will enable me to burn my discs properly. thanks in advance. Whether or not anyone posts.

Re: Help with burning projects to disc I went to nero infotool to test my dvd drive. And it was able to burn the disc. So why isn't it able to burn my blank dvds? The only thing that I can remember was that before this problem started happening. I went ahead and cleared up some temporary storage files from my hard drive. Some of those files were nero temp. files. I didn't think that they would account for anything, but that's what I did. So I re-installed the same version of nero and I still get the insert disc message, This is getting silly. I'm able to burn a data disc in nero infotool, but I can't burn my projects onto disc. What should I do?!?

Re: Help with burning projects to disc Okay I think that I have found my problem. I notice that when i click on disc info in side of nero vision it shows the information from my dvd drive not my dvd rewritable drive. It seems that the program is using my regular dvd non writable drive as a reference for my burned projects. And since my regular drive can't burn projects then as a result I get the insert disc message. So my new question is how do I go about getting my rewritable drive as the new default for the nero vision program so I can successfully burn my projects. When I choose my writable drive as a reference to show the disc information of my blank, It showed the precise information of the disc I had in the drive. But when I burn it referenced to the regular dvd drive on my computer. Please help me with this dilemna! thank you.

Re: Help with burning projects to disc I hope to understand correctly your problem. To choose a different drive you only need to select the right one from the box. You can click on the combobox or press the button and select the correct drive
