Disable caching from virtual CD-Rom / DVD-Rom drive

Howdy!

I work with virtual DVD-Rom drives quite frequently. The software I use is the latest version of Daemon Tools.

When I burn an ordinary Data DVD, I add some files from my harddisk AND some files from my virtual DVD drive. Unfortunately, Nero writes ALL data from the virtual drive into the cache before burning. This takes ages and delays the process for about 15 minutes.

In my opinion, this is not necessary: The DVD-drive is only virtual and has - of course - the performance of my harddisk. So there is no need to precache all files. I already disabled the option "Cache data from CD-Roms", but the problem persists.

Btw, it does not make any difference if I use Nero Image drive or Daemon Tools.

Can any1 help?

Good question, you've got me. If Nero is registered, then send them a bug report. Also post at www.daemon-tools.cc and let us know what happens

Howdy!

I solved the problem: You have to disable the option "cache files from floppy and network".

You find it under "diverse", the register left to "burning".

Then it works as it should!

Thanks - good answer, glad it worked.

I think I can just see the connection between "floppy and networks" and virtual drives, hehe
