I´m totally new at this, but I found that Clone2dvd with Anydvd running in the background produces the easiest and best results - no complications, faster too.

Re: Burning Disc - audio out of sync

OK OK OK OK !!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE SOMETHING THAT WORKED FOR ME!!!!!!!!! DIVX CONVERTER!!!!!!!!!!! I had 25 xvids's to burn and most failed using Nero 7 because of those audio sync errors. Once I used DIVX CONVERTER on all my xvid's first, they all burned perfectly! This has to be the easiest way around the problem. I tried some other recommendations. but honestly there was nothing easy about extracting audio tracks from video, muxing them back together. Divx Converter puts a drop box on your screen. Drag and drop the xvid's, go to bed, wake up in the morning, with fresh new AVI's that are perfect for burning. If this worked for 25 xvids that I could not burn using a handful of other apps, Nero, DVDsanta,Roxio,WinDVD, I tried them all and none worked. They all work of course after I run the xvid's through Divx Converter. The xvid's I had troubles with are the same that tc472 started this post with.

The solution is to feed the AVI through VirtualDub and re-encode the audio track to a CBR 192KB/s MP3 track (use a very high MP3 rate as your going to get rid of the file later and you dont want any quality loss) and then feed that into your AVI to DVD program.

Setup the video stream to do a direct copy (Default is to re-encode) and the audio stream to re-encode (default is to do a direct copy). This should be relativly quick.
Can you tell me how to do this? I'm noob...

Re: Burning Disc - audio out of sync

Have the same problem..
I was going to try the qwakrz method, but I get an error message from vdub "No installed audio codec could be found to decompress the audio"
I installed lame 3.951 before trying, and I can hear the audio in avi file when playing with windows media player.
Anyone know what im doing wrong?

Edit:

It worked with a different avi(LOL) wich apparantly has another kind mp3 audio
Anyone what kind of mp3 codec XOR uses?

Turns out the AVI was not being recognized correctly by the Frauhoffer codec.
I used the hex editor to adjust the file and voila!
Nero 7 NVE works great

thx for the help

Can you tell exactly what you edited to fix the file?

Btw, the qwakrz trick didn't work in my case..

Re: Burning Disc - audio out of sync

Having same problem

copying a wedding video I`ve shot from DVcam to a Panasonic DVD recorder then using DVD Shrink to copy the disk and make an archival copy on Firewire Hard disk, then importing the Vob files into Nero Vison 4 adding some nice menu pages and animated buttons, and burn to disk but audio out of sync all the way through. So a bit dissapointed that it dosen`t work, any other programs you could suggest which is an all in one but does the job right.

Regards

sean

Re: Burning Disc - audio out of sync

Ok I Googled my way to this forum and joined. I followed the instructions above to separate the wav file and the save the avi file. So far so good. I previewed the file on various programs including Windows Media Player and Nero Showtime and it was perfect. After opening Nero Vision Express and inserting the file to be burned to dvd, I checked the preview only to find that the video is choppy (both video and audio). I am a little confused as I followed the instructions above to the letter. Any ideas how to proceed? By the way, the Nero digital serial number solution does not work for me. Thanks guys!

Re: Burning Disc - audio out of sync

I found that using VideoDub did not help at all.

What *did* was to use Xilisoft AVI MPEG converter. Default settings used. I converted an AVI to a (DivX) AVI and no choppy audio.

I tried this software last year and it's crap. Audio out of sync AND blurry video. Not worth $5 let alone the $25 they want for it. Save your money.
