| Burn speed problems with Nero Lite 7.7.5.1 & Vista Hi there, I'm using Nero Lite 7.7.5.1 and Microsoft Vista Ultimate Edition. My PC specs are: P4 3.0 GHz, 2 GB DDR-2 RAM, 50 GB free HDD and Asus DRW 1608 P2. I have installed latest firmware and updates Both my HDD and DVD driver is in DMA mode. I have already used my DVD writer with WinXP SP2 and burned many CDs and DVDs (with different types of media) with maximum speed (e.g: 40x for CD 16x for DVD-RW) Whenever I start using Vista Ultimate burning CD/DVDs become problem for me: I can't burn any kind of media over these speeds: CDs for 12x and DVDs for 1.5 max. speed. I've checked MS, Nero and other various sites regarding this problem but I can't find either any explanation or fixes. Is there anyone facing same problem? Regards, |

Please check if DMA is enabled for your drive: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f61/troubleshooting-enabling-checking-dma-windows-vista-xp-2000-me-9x-101616/ Your Asus drive should be connected by a 80 wire 18" (46cm) flat ribbon cable. In addition: There is already a newer version of Nero available. (But this won't fix your problem) Michael

I have some doubt that this version of Nero you are using to be VISTA compatible, try to upgrade you Nero to version 7.8.5.0 which is VISTA compatible see if you get better outcomes. | |
