| SHW-160P6S Problems reading DVD movies On this particular drive I bought, some DVD movies won't work while others will. I investigated the region code thing, but I also tested my DVD's on another drive and they work fine with region 1. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever experienced a problem similar to this. I've updated the firmware to the latest version which is 08. I'm going to try the other 2 versions now to see what happens. Ideas? |

| Re: SHW-160P6S Problems reading DVD movies I'm having the same experience. Some dvd video discs are recognized and some are not. When a disc fails, the drive sits there retrying for about 30 seconds before giving up and then it appears as if there is nothing in the drive (windows). |

| Re: SHW-160P6S Problems reading DVD movies Yes I have the same problem with this model Lite-On. Something I noticed is that it seems to happen on Newline Cinema DVDs more often for example "Harold and Kumar Goto White Castle" and "A History of Violence". Can other SHW-160P6S owners chime in here and let me know if this is a problem with this model or I have a defective unit. Thanx -Fatchance |

| Re: SHW-160P6S Problems reading DVD movies The First 160p6s had the same problems some of you are having, mine worked for 30 min to 1 hour and quit recognizing Pressed dvd's of all types. I RMAed the drive and got another one flashed to the latest firmware and all is good now. I backed up my copy of History of Violence no problem. |
