Cool, thanks! Was wondering when this is going to be coming out.

Now let's see when the DVD-RAM model goes up...

Re: Liteon SHW-16H5S w/ Lightscribe

Lightscribe seems to be faster than the DW1625. 1.6x compared to 1x for the latter.

sounds great!

Re: Liteon SHW-16H5S w/ Lightscribe

I'm glad that it supports DVD-R DL at 4x. DVD-RAM support would let it write every disc, at least for now...

Re: Liteon SHW-16H5S w/ Lightscribe

Well, BenQ 1620@1625 didn't work because LightScribe required a minor modification to the sled. So it's hard to say if that would be possible with the 1635S; since it didn't work on the BenQ, I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you...

Code65536, I have just received a sample of this drive, extracted the firmware and emailed it to you.

I have not had a chance to test this drive yet.

Cool, thanks. I actually ended up getting and replying to the e-mail before seeing this post, so you'll have to excuse me if I sounded a bit surprised in the e-mail response.
