no 20a1x available in south germany, not even in online stores...

I meant the 18A1P, theres no 20x-model avaible here and I don´t think u can get it in other countries ATM

i'll get one as soon as c0deking confirms that a 18a1x to 20a1x crossflash is possible.

i've read this, but what if the 20a1h gets released before the crossflash firmware is available for the public?
i don't really need a new writer, but i don't have lightscribe, so i'll wait some time.

Crossflashing between models (not brands) has always required either a change to the EEPROM, or a patch to the firmware and with the later firmwares, the patch protection has to be bypassed for the patch to work.

I'm really impressed with the TYG03 scan, really surprised that the -R scan is much better than the +R scan (especially since -R is much cheaper than +R media).

Just one question though, was the TYG03 media used Premium or Value Line since that makes a huge difference ?

can (read speed unlock will happen right?) both 18A1x and 20A1x use 18-20x burn curve for 16x like lg drives do? their 16x p-cav curve.

20X is useful only if lite on has reduced lead-in time.

20x is useful if burns are good.

Anyone knows when it´s avaible in shops?

you could get a LH-18A1H and pray that someone will release a crossflash patched firmware so you can upgrade to LH-20A1H.

strange that the 2B1S is already available, but not the 20A1H...

Maybe they wait for the competition to sell 20x drives in order to set the right price.

they've got it out in the uk . just here look here
