Re: LiteOn Ultra Fast Burn Patch (12x burn < 6:30) (16x burn < 5:45)

Hi all - I'm back after an excellent time in the South Island of New Zealand.

@pinto2
Looks good. Can't take any credit for the 16x, although, it may be due to the fact that the learn is now more consistent from 8x thought to 16x, because they now all use the same CAV curve.

@koolaidwa
Yes you can use any of the OP patches.

@MegaDETH
pinto2 is using a strategy change for the T02 to T03. You might want to try this instead of just enabling the 12x and 16x speeds for T02.

@hiren
It can be done but LiteOn has always used the slower curve for -R, even at 8x in the 3S MKI drives, so I'm not sure how well it will work. I'll have to try it at some stage.

@jwilks
How have you enable 12x for MCC003? Have you just checked the 12x speed? Can you show us a Nero CD-DVD Speed quality test of one of the discs?

the easiest way is to quote a post, copy the upcoming text, go back to the next post you want to quote and paste the text, after you click on quote post, under the now quoted text. you can write your text to the quote now.

can't explain it better. hope you understand it.

hey c0de i ran the firmware through the omipatcher and just slected 12x for MCC003. the reason why i do that is my liteon will not finalize the dvd properly at 8x but it will at 6x or lower. or basically anything but 8x. how about if i change the write strategy to MCC004 would that get me better results yet??

Re: LiteOn Ultra Fast Burn Patch (12x burn < 6:30) (16x burn < 5:45)

Thanks for all of the welcome backs. Had a brilliant time. Drunk lots of wine. That's the end of my rhyme. Hehe. It was one big mobile party. 4 guys, a 6 berth campervan each and lots of vineyards to visit...

Re the 5S checksum. I have some forum work I want to do first, so things will have to stay on hold for a bit longer. Fortunately a very kind person supplied me with something that may help me track it down much quicker. Fingers crossed.

I have to say, I'm loving the results here. I'd hate to release UFB and have it swing the other way for the sake of a 15 seconds odd burn time increase. Maybe the -R FB patch would be a better next step, if it works.

@jwilks
The MCC004 strategy is worth a try but show us a scan of one of your current burns first. It may be okay as it is.
