Liteon 812@832 CG3B - Club CDFreaks

It was working perfectly until i updated my computer to service pack 2, and now it won't burn DVD-RW anymore, and when i try to put in a dvd+r it reads it as a cd, so what can i do to correct this, everything still says that it is a dvd burner when i put none of the disk in. what do i do. Help please

remove the drive from device-manager and reboot ur pc. if it doesn't work, you could try CG3E firmware. or at very least, remove SP2, it's crap.

Also try deleting the IDE channel that the drive is on or swapping the drive from master to slave or slave to master depending on your configuration. Also here's a link to a post that has some very good advise.

I agree...., it can "kill" your burner.
