It can only get better.

BTW, you are not alone "returning" back to Lite-On forum. The latest Litey's are quite interesting, now that BenQ is out of business.

Guys.. a Quick Question... What firmware do you recomend with the LiteON SHW 160P6S... Need a new firmware because the actual (PS0B) its working bad making a backup of Original DVD (Spiderman I) in a jobmate´s PC.. But with my 1633S it worked excelent and made the backup... I use DVD Shrink in both cases and only with the 160P6S happened that... Only could decrypt backups DVDs of other movies...

I just flashed my P6S a few hours ago to 160P6S.PS0C.patched-16xOS-rs and I'm having excellent results on various -R media at max speed. Very impressed so far although I haven't tested any in my standalone yet, the PIF scans are great.

YUDEN000 T02, unbranded printable variety, at 16x...I was kinda surprised, since this stuff isn't as good as my Verbatim T02s (at regular speed).

SB=on, OS=on, OHT=on

TRT and scan both on the 165P6S.

Only a few drives can overburn DVD+R media (not LiteOn drives) and no drive I know of can overburn DVD-R.

Ah, muchas gracias. Is there a list of the drives that can overburn? I thought that is a normal function like overburn Cd's. Isn't it true that cdspeed2000 have a overburn test for dvd's?

Sony +R DL 2.4x MIS ( MKM001 ) burned at 8x with 165P6S

1st burn with MS0R. Low PIF count . High PIE in 1st layer 8x CLV zone.

Re: LiteOn 5S and 6S - 16x OverSpeed - Read speed unlock (Updated: 26 Dec 2006)

Hi, C0deKing.

I have a SHW-16H5S LS0W and I tried LV4D.
But had some troubles. Reading problems for DVD+R DL.
I'll show some pictures with results before going to LV4D and after flashing with new firmware. LS0W 8x reading of RICOH +R9 was OK, but with LV4D ....
I was so happy to have jitter scanning. Also I wanna ask which are resonable values for jitter? I didn't make any jitter scanning before and don't know how to really understand jitter error values. Are the LV4D's jitter scanning really correct? Are they comparable to BenQ's? Which is the best for jitter, BenQ or LITE-ON?
Thank you for your help.
