RICHOHJPNR01 as TDK 4x burnt at 16x.

Burnt and scanned on a 160P6S. Looks like the 111L won't get the work it used to. Thank-you mate.

Intersting that the scan at 4X is better than 8X. Also, what's going on with my read speed? It fluctuates about 0.7X as it reads.

Hey I find with this firmware for the SHM-165H6S that I no longer am able to delete or write to DVD+RW at all. I know you said it will cause issues with DVD Ram but this has broken all capability with DVD RW also. So what firmware should I be using to get my RW capability back?

I've run many tests using DVD+RW with the 165P6S 16x OverSpeed firmware and have found no problems. I've attached one I just did now. What happens if you use the patched -RS only firmware.

Remember that the 165P6S does not like +RW that has been burned by other drives, as it uses a lower power for the burn. Make sure you full erase the disc in the other drive first before using it in the 165H6S or use a new disc.

molitar, no problem with the 165H6S HS0E 16x OverSpeed firmware either. Here's a scan of a +RW burn I just did with this firmware.

Which firmware should I be using? Installed in mine is HV9N. Is that one of them with problems? I am also planning to pickup a DVD Ram Media. Do you think I need to try some reset or something? I used ISOBUSTER to test the media and it showed no errors but when I try to format it.. I get invalid media.

So this was originally burned on an earlier model Liteon so is their no way to reformat this disc than? If the problem is because it was burned on an earlier model which I no longer have.

molitar, stock HV9N will allow you to use DVD-RAM and already has the read speed unlocked. If you use the patched 16x OverSpeed version of HV9N, then you cannot use DVD-RAM.

I've received no other reported issues with +RW media and my tests above were both quick erased with Nero CD/DVD Speed.

How can I tell if I have the unpatched HV9N because all I see in the first thread seems to be the patched one. I can't seem to find an unpatched one.

Thats it. I use 3 from a pack for 16H5S, namely,
16H5S.LV4D.patched-fbd-16xOS-rs.exe
16H5S.LV4D.patched-fbd-rs.exe
and
16H5S.LV4D.patched-fbd.exe
No one was able even to identify DVD media in drive
(media type == "TTG01")
Have to roll back to fbd rom from

Hi PrimeLtd. That's very odd. The patches shouldn't affect media recognition. Sorry if this is a silly question, but are you sure your drive is a 16H5S and not a 1635S?
