LiteOn / PLDS/ Sony Burner Discuss, Liteon 52327s black faceplate? at CD and DVD Burners forum; I have a Lite on 52327s 52x32x52 drive that I bought for 10 bucks after rebates. I'm looking for a black faceplate for it now so it can match the rest of the drives on the system I'm putting together. Anyone have a suggestion on what I could

buy a can of black spray paint.

remove the front off the drive, spray the bits from all 4 angles, leaving 10 minutes between coats

if after a half glossy / dull finish, wait 20mins, then do a very light coat of gloss over the top

comes up very nice
did it with my old 48125w and my 52327s

Thanks for the tip. I might just give this a try.

Any normal can of black spray paint should work?

You can buy black faceplates in Europe, I tried hard finding them at newegg but I couldn't find any, but I'm sure some american retailer has them. I'm very bad at american webshops as I never order from them... That is if you are very lazy, doing your own will be just as good.

Any black spray should work (as long as it does work with plastic)

normal spray paint works fine

i used 'Sprays' Matt Black , and Gloss Black here in australia
both come up nicely.

just do 3-4 coats of all peices (front, cd front, button) making sure you take out the clear led light thingy from the front. (use a blade to cut of the plastic bumps, then carefuly pry out the light.

heres a pic of my 1st attempt
i did my pioneer 117dvd, my liteon 48125w and floppy
