| Lite-On LTR-40125S, some good news. Well the features seems nice as expected, but this is what caught my attention: LTR-40125S also includes the "redefined" SMART-BURN (Smart Monitoring & Adapting Recording Technology for BURNing) feature with this fastest burner. The new SMART-BURN would automatically check media quality and set limit to burning speed that is best suited for that media to ensure successful writing sessions. (Users will have an option to deactivate this feature if they choose to force the drive to record at maximum speed regardless of media quality. Users will have to take such action at their own risk.) So it should be possible to switch off the media detection system, nice feature....then you may experiment for yourself and se how high speed your media could be recorded at.

| It's nearly the same as a packet writing software, just built into future operatingsystems. Like a more standardized and better packet writing system. Read some more here.

| Mt Rainier technology (which lets see if I can remember correctly ) allows faster formatting, increased compatibility, and overall better speeds for CD-RWs. It will eventually replace all of the standard UDF format drives. Its supposed to be standard on 32x speed drives up, but the Liteon didn't.This article should have some more info http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/News...RelatedID=1913 |
