LDW-451S problems...2 drives installed with fresh install? - Club CDFreaks

I just got a LDW-451S and installed it on my secondary master. I have the selector set to master on the drive. After the initial boot I now see two drives that were installed. I have my CDRW (which was there b4 the install) and now the LDW-451S and AXV CD/DVD-Rom SCSI CDRomDevice are shown. That is 3 optical drives??? My primary master and slave are 2 hard drives. I called Liteon tech support and they said this happens sometimes???? What the heck does that mean? I disabled it and can burn but has anyone else had this problem? I also tried the latest firmware...no difference. I had a CDRom drive installed on the secondary master b4 installing the LDW-451S in it's place.

Any help? I have an MSI Kt7 Turbro mobo, amd 1333 running windows XP pro.

It looks like I was getting a virtual drive from Alcohol 120%. It is fixed by unistalling Alcohol. Looks like this drive may be too new to be recognized.

I will just have to use the mydvd software to burn for now.

RecordNow Max 4.5 and Nero 5.5.10.54 both work fine with the 451s.

I seem to have my best results with RecordNow Max 4.5.

Also, DVDdecrypter, DVDshrink work fine with it also.

?K7T?...VIA 133A-chipset?
You are not the only one... Use the search button at top of page and make some googling.
BTW, try to uninstall your drives (incl. from device manager). Update VIA 4in1 drivers and install your 451s...
