LDW-411S & LDW-451S problems with recognizing/reading some CD-R medias Hello! Why LITE-ON LDW-411S & LDW-451S don't recognize/read all CD-R medias? Drive recognize the media, after it have tried to recognize/read the media about 15 seconds, but the media do not recognize properly, CDs AutoSetup do not start. When you go to My Computer, drive have recognizes CDs name, but when you try to open/explore CDs contents, the Windows freezees. Other Optical drives (example LITE-ON LTN-527T, LITE-ON LTR-52327S, LG GSA-4081B...) recognizes/reads these medias very well, but LDW-411S & LDW-451S do not. I work at computer shop, so i had opportunity to test many of these drives and all acts the same, drive tries to recognize/read media (led blinks), but it do not recognize media properly. I have tested those drives on two different computer. Operating System were on both computer Windows XP (with SP1). I have also updated latest firmware. Last edited by Jari; 16-01-2004 at 01:58.

| CD-R medias are manufactured by RiTEK,TG CD-R medias that LDW-411S and LDW-451S do not recognize/read properly: -LITE-ON CD-R80S (Manfacturer RiTEK,TG; ATIP: 79m 59s 70f) there is my Call of Duty backup -Maxell CD-R 80XL (Manfacturer RiTEK,TG; ATIP: 97m 15s 17f) there is my Nero 6.0 backup So those CD-R medias are manufactured by RiTEK,TG. | I have made those backup CDs by using LITE-ON LTR-52327S I have made those backup CDs using LITE-ON LTR-52327S. After burn i have checked burn result using Nero CD Speed's CD Quality Test. Those were perfect burns. |

I take it that these problem discs were burned on another machine? any C1/C2 scans done on them? Have no trouble with Ritek on my 411 here. Edit, just figured out that you burned the discs on the 7S drive. That's very odd.

Optical drive that I have used, when I made those backups was LITE-ON LTR-52327S Yes I have made those backups in another machine, were the optical drive is LITE-ON LTR-52327S (CD-RW drive). Those backups works perfectly in another optical drives (like LITE-ON LTN-527T, LITE-ON LTR-52327S, LG GSA-4081B...), but do not in LITE-ON LDW-411S and LDW-451S. I have checked burn result using Nero CD Speed's CD Quality Test and Scandisk. Those were perfect burns.

-LITE-ON CD-R80S (Manfacturer RiTEK,TG; ATIP: 79m 59s 70f) there is my Call of Duty backup I made another backup from that above Call of Duty (RiTEK media) backup using CloneCD to LITE-ON CD-R 80Min/700MB (Manufacturer: CMC,Imation;ATIP: 97m 26s 66f) media. And now LITE-ON LDW-411S & LDW-451S recognize/reads that CMC media perfectly. So there is some media issue with LITE-ON LDW-411S & LDW-451S drives and RiTEK media.
