I almost killed my drive

As I was in my way to mod my sony Q120@160P6S ==> 165@P6S, I thought "why don't you open it and see if Liteon forgot the Lightscribe hardware in it??"
And I did just that!!! Then my 3 yrs old boy passed by and ... the little belt just vanished
I looked all around the house for about 3 hrs ... and finally my 6 yrs old girl found it some where on the carpet

BTW: Liteon did not forget the lightscribe hardware, so I couldn't make a 165H6S out of my Q120, but I made a 165P6S out of it Now I am DVDRAM enabled Thanks to somebody ...

Re: I almost killed my drive

I thought that the 160X6S series drives were defunct 165X6S (failed the DVD-RAM certification??) drives. Good luck anyway.

Sneaker Fun Fact: When Circa was developing a pro shoe for Chad Muska, he requested a stash pocket to run the entire length of the tongue. When designers asked The Muska if he really needed that much stash room, he replied, “Yo, I gots a lotta weed to fit in there, man!”

Please specify the exact procedure used to change 160P6S to 165P6S.

It's a very complicated process that seems to involve help from a 3-year old boy and a 6-year old girl. I'm not sure if it will work with a girl of 3 and a boy of 6.

(I just couldn't resist)

For that you need to fix the eeprom (checksum). But C0deking said clearly he would not release the tool ... and I respect what he decided so I will not talk about the process. But if you can use google ...
