alexanderino, as you can also backup the firmware of our 5239V using LtnFW, you should be capable to compare the firmware extracted with both tools. I will try this evening.

Okay, missed v.1.0.1 and 1.0.2. Now on 1.0.3 but still no ID.

Background. This is a friends (that I'm visiting on vacation) old Dell OEM drive.
Using mtkflash (1.55) in doze a 512kB bin file can be extracted. mktflash also tells me this drive has a Winbond W29C040 flash chip.

No matter what setting I use in latest version of Flash Reader, I only get bin files not near the same as with mtkflash. And no "LITEONIT" signature at end of file.

Flash Reader v1.0.4 is now released

More Flash IDs added.
Only allows drives that will produce a valid BIN to be read.

Sorry but if Flash Reader shows "Waiting..." as the Flash size then your saved BIN is not valid, like in pinto2's case. Unfortunately I have been forced to block these drives for the moment because they respond strangely to the method I'm using to read the Flash.

Well it doesn´t even detect my Lite-ON SOHD-16P9SV. It works fine on the Lite-ON SHW-16H5S Burner though.

BTW the EEPROM Utility v3.3.3 doesn´t detect my SOHD-16P9SV DVD-ROM drive either.

That's right because it's not a writeable DVD drive. Try the latest version of Flash Reader I've just posted (v1.0.6).

The latest version (1.06) recognizes all my LiteOn drives and backs up the Fw for
- LTR-48646S (SS0E)
- SOHW-1213S@1653S (CS0T)
- SHM-165P6S (MV9N)
with only the anticipated differences (XSF "skip range" = 1E0000-1FFFF for 165P6S).

My LTD-163 DVD-ROM is now recognized, but not supported (but that's the case with LtnFlash as well).
