LiteOn / PLDS/ Sony Burner Discuss, CenDyne (liteon) LTR-32123S at CD and DVD Burners forum; So I just got this new drive, and turns out it burns in Z-CLV. Any tweaks I can get to have the burner burn at its constant max 32x? Also, any other tweaks/firmware upgrades I should play with?

OH and also, does my drive have "burn proof" like the real lite-on's do? it doesn't have the burnbroof sticker on it, but it has "burn protection" on the box

2B-3S:series uses Z-CLV. And there is no drive that does 32x constantly.

It says SMART-Burn doesn't it? Much better than Burnproof...

If I remember correctly, the CenDyne boxes didn't list Smart-Burn, and the sticker would be on the box, not the drive (my original LITE-ON branded 32123s does not have Smart-Burn marked anywhere on the drive). I also have a Cendyne packaged 32123s (only difference is that there is an extra "breaking seal voids warranty" sticker running from the top of the drive down the side, but not actually covering anything that would break it if the drive were opened! (Though the original Lite-On seal is also present), also the Lite-On packaged drive has a "www.liteonit.com" sticker on the front of the drawer, which is not present on the Cendyne packaged drive. The Cendyne packaged drive definitely has Smart-Burn, Smart-X, and any other features of the Lite-On badged model.

(My Buslink LTR-40125s actually has a Buslink label on top instead of the Lite-On sticker)

Stay up to date on the LiteOn firmware, and use the best media you can find.
