| Can read music cd/dvd but not data - help! My samsung cd rewriter decided a few weeks ago to stop reading data cds so I replaced it today with a liteon 811 dvd rewriter and am getitng the same problem. It will read music from cd or dvd but will not read data from cd or dvd Any ideas please??? Cheers Banny |

| Re: Can read music cd/dvd but not data - help! what programmes do u have running in the background? it seems it may be an audio app locking the drive and preventing other apps from using it.

| Re: Can read music cd/dvd but not data - help! Hi Booma Closed everything in the background still no luck. Searched the net and came up with a few possibilities: 1. Knackered cable 2. IDE device settings to DMA 3. One guy said that he had the same problem but as long as there was a disc in the drive on bootup everything was ok. No disc in the drive then he problem re-appeared. I've tried 2 and 3 now getting a new cable to see if that is the problem Ta |
