Slow read speed

I got a Plextor 24-10-40 and flashed it to 1.02 in hopes that the drive reads Safedisc 1 and 2 disc quickly, but no it took almost half an hour to read both the disc for Red Alert 2 (SD2) and 20 minutes to read Age of Empires 2 Expansion (SD1). The Fast Error Skip Settings were:
Read retries:0
Error Correction:Software

I lowered the read speed to 32x when reading SD2 protected CD.

Get newest CloneCD, your FES settings are correct. Enable DMA and read speed MAX

DMA is already enabled for my computer, but I was wondering if having Roxio installed will cause any conflict or problems?

I have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.02c on my comp, no probs, also Nero Burning ROM 5.5.6.4, Padus DiscJuggler, CDRWIN 3.8F, CloneCD 3.3.2.1.

All work together well I think.

Try changing the FES settings to:

Error correction: hardware (or none although none isn't recommended by Olli)
Read retries: 0

And see how fast this goes.
