Question about VariRec on Plextor burner

I was wondering if writing a CD-DA on a plextor burner with VariRec enabled, set to 0 (zero) was the same as writing a CD-DA without VariRec enabled at all ?

Hmmm...maybe this is the wrong forum.....

Re: Plextor CD-R Burner Question

I'm pretty sure. I mean, they've got very specific power calibration settings for the different dye types in the firmware. I'd bet that they use that setting as the reference point (zero) for VariRec's -4 to +4 alterations. Try it.

Re: Question about VariRec on Plextor burner

I have tried it some time ago on a Plesx Premium. IIRC the C1 error levels were a little higher with Varirec enabled and set to 0 compared to Varirec switched off. So I assume that ther is different cakibration. But I said it was long ago and I might have mixed things up a little in my brain :-)
