| Premium and buffer size The data sheet of the PP says it has a buffer of 8 megs. Feurio, however, does only take 4 of them. Is the rest used by the devices itsself? Ehm, is it a marketing gag by Plextor?

| It is true that part of the buffer is used by the drive itself (this is the case with every writer) but it's not 50%. The Premium has an 8MB buffer so I think Feurio! is reporting the wrong size. Nero reports 8MB here and so does PlexTools (8192KB).
