I don't get an 18X burn on any media with V .1.06 firmware.

Great I wonder what is up with that. Hopefully it's a mistake in the FW gurus at Plextor.
Maybe they got the 760 and 755 firmwares mixed up and all the 755A's will write at 18x with thier new FW LOL.

Yeah. That's embarrassing. To busy playing with other drives that do burn it @18x I just looked at some of my old MCC 03RG20 scans and PR cut in before it got to 16x on some burns.

MCC004 @ 16x AS auto, PR on
either I've had the worst batch of 760/755 known to man or these plextors don't like burning them at 16x.

Burn time 5:32.
TA test Very Good, Very Good and Good.
Cleared A/S before flashing to 1.06.

I take back any negative implications I've made against Plextor; the problem is the batch. no drive I have burns them well. oh well. I still have 2 cakeboxes of Yuden T02s left.
