| Re: Post your Plextor 755 DVD quality scans here @2020 - if your notebook has FireWire, I'd prefer using that over USB. Generally speaking, the computer must be left alone when scanning (no screensavers, automatic updates, defragmentation, malware scans, etc.). Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong. |

| Re: Post your Plextor 755 DVD quality scans here Many thanks. I live and learn ..... No FW port built-in but I did have a FW CardBus card at some point. Will see if I can dig it out. Had planned to do that at some point, given the advantages of FW, but will try to do that sooner now . |

| Re: Post your Plextor 755 DVD quality scans here Burner: PX-755SA TLA #0002 Firmware: 1.07 Media: Maxell Medical Grade 8x DVD-R MID: MXLRG03 Burn Speed: 8x AS: Auto PR: On Burning Software: CD-DVD Speed 4.7.5.0 I finally pulled the trigger on the MG Maxells I've been seeing on ebay for a while. They were packaged exactly the same as the special Mori and MediaBox MXLRG03 discs sold in Japan, so I was hoping for similar quality. Well, these aren't quite that good, but they are certainly far better than consumer-grade Maxell MIJ. They use the short hub serial numbering system but don't have a stack ring on the top surface like MB, Mori and Apple-branded MXLRG03. |

| Re: Post your Plextor 755 DVD quality scans here External PX-755uf Verbatim MKM-001 2.4X media burned at 6X The second scan is the same disc & data but burned at 2.4X. Burning at a lower speed yielded worse results!!! What gives?? ![]()

The BenQ scan looks funky but I've gotten used to that. |
