The BenQ scan is a little ugly, but within spec. |

Jitter is much better looking on this one than the T02 burn on the BenQ scan. |

As is usual with the 716A and 16x burns, the speed dropped before it could reach the maximum but the quality is good. |

I can only assume they were buried in a corner of the warehouse portion of the store and only recently discovered, or something like that. Anyhow, this is a nice burn, whether PowerRec lowered the speed or not (B's still doesn't have a speed or time meter). |

| Re: Post your Plextor 716 DVD Quality scans here Burner: PX-716UF TLA #0203 Firmware: 1.11 Media: Verbatim 16x DVD+R MID: MCC004 Stamper Code: ZD8145-DVR-T47D Hub Serial: PAPA27KG27015226 3 Burn Speed: 16x AS: Auto PR: On Burning Software: Nero CD-DVD Speed 4.7.5.0 This is a disc from one of the hated spindles with the Intellifix offer on the packaging, and it was manufactured in 2006 to boot. However, this particular batch is pretty good, almost as good as my pristine 100-disc spindle of 2005 CMC MCC004 discs. Jitter looks a bit funky in the 7-16x CAV write strategy area of the disc, but looks fine towards edge where the drive switched to the 12x P-CAV strategy, so 12x may be best on this drive. |

| Re: Post your Plextor 716 DVD Quality scans here I agree that 12X is the sweet spot for MCC 004. Nice ![]() Also I have Intelliflix PAPA that are fine. It was the PAP6 batches that were problematic. |

I've had the kit for a couple of weeks but just decided to try out one of the 8x discs which are DataLifePlus branded with that nice pearly finish. My goodness did CMC make some good MCC003 back in the day; I can't believe we used to complain about them manufacturing Mitsubishi media. Nothing I've used from the Singapore plant can even touch this, and it beats out a lot of T02 I've tried over the years as well. The good old days indeed... ![]() |

| Re: Post your Plextor 716 DVD Quality scans here MCC, TY let's really test how good this drive isMagnavox branded CMC MAG 16x and the results... are not pretty. 716A probably would have benefited greatly from having forced AS like the 755/760. |
