I've made a working copy Fifa 2003 CD2 which has SD 2.8 with my Plextor PX-S88T 1.06 (external). I used Toshiba DVD SD-R2102 as my reader and then copy with PLEXTOR. The program used was Alcohol 120% with the settings for SafeDisk 2 (to read and write). Then I tried the copy created by the Plextor on another computer, the reader is LTD 163. On this computer I do not have the HIDE CDR on. Is Plextor now able to copy SD 2.8 using Alcohol 120%, cause with Clone CD it does not work at all.

Have you tried the 'emulate AWS' option in the new CloneCD? Previous CloneCD versions had some problems with this latest SafeDisc version. If Alcohol 120% gives you a working copy it's great, right? This would mean the Plextor can do it.

Was the "bypass EFM error" option unchecked?

The option "bypass EFM error" was checked. The copy works if i use Alcohol 120%; however it does not work if I use CloneCd 4.2.0.2, shouldn't it work?

The last game that I´ve backuped successfully with CCD was Mafia (SD2.7x) without aws using the plex 24 as reader. The copy worked only on Intenso cdrw-80 media, with cdr i had no success!!

I succesfully copied MOHAA Spearhead with my old Plex 1610 using Alcohol's SD2 default settings. With CloneCD it didn't worked, but I didn't used the latest CloneCd version.
I used Alochol 1.3.3 build 1030.

I also copied Conflict desert storm (SD 2.7) using Clone CD.

Can You please tell me which settings you used for clone cd and you're writer? THX

For Desert Storm (SD2.7) I used Clone CD 4.0.1.0 and the default profile for SD 2.51+. I read and wrote with my Plex 1610A.
Read speed : 4X, write speed : max. Of course AWS enabled (by default).

For Spearhead Clone CD couldn't do the job, but Alcohol 1.3.3 build 1030 did it instead. I read at 4X with Alcohol and used the default SD2 profile (bypass EFM of course). I again read and wrote with my plex. Write speed within 0 and max. Wrote raw dao - mode. (all by default!)

I copy and play on the same computer, so Clone CD's hide cd-r media is enabled. I play from my plex-drive, because I don't have a normal CD-rom or DVD.

Well I copied Nightfire which is SD v2.80.010 with my plex 12/10/32A in Alcohol Fine

A friend managed to backup Sims Unleashed (SD 2.80.10) with his Plex 12/10/32S and Alcohol 120% 135.1112

He used his Plex to Read/Write the image at MAX speed, the backup was authenticated in a few seconds of launching the game in his LG DVD-ROM.

He's got Hitman 2, so we're gonna try that one next (I know it's SecuROM!!)

Can you play Nightfire in every drive on every PC ? I don't think so, cause in my case a SD2.8 copy will only play in my plex-drive. Most of the SD2+ copies I made, like MOHAA, Desert Storm, Spearhead,... are only playable in my Plex-drive. When I try it on another PC, the copy fails to run.

I have several plextor CDRWs and CDrom SCSI drives. I also have a Pioneeer 106 DVD and a Toshiba SD M1402 SCSI DVD. I have made copies of Spearhead and Nightfire using plextor 482448a and 2410a using BlindWrite and Diskjuggler. The copies made with Blind write play in the CDRWs even a liteon 48125W CDRW.

They play in the Plex 40tsi SCSI Cdrom. They will not play in the toshiba. Almost every game I burn SD 2.8 or Securom new 4.8xxx plays in the Plex 40tsi. Good old Plextor cd roms they were and are the best for playback as you do not need Hide CDR or emulation to play.

If everyone had this drive we could install and play everywhere. I do at home. All my computers have this CD rom. The best. (Sometimes old technology is best). Oh htey also play in the Liteon.

Plex can do SD 2.8 with the right software. I have not tried Alcohol yet, but I just D/L last night demo copy. Can't wait to get home from work so I can try it out. With the Plexy's.

About FiFa 2003 1X1 copy:
I used Plex 40/12/40A

Media: Imation 16X
Plex to read at Max speed, to write I used 16X
The option "bypass EFM error" was checked
SafeDisk 2 (to read and write).
I tested both CDs in a Kenwood 72X and a LG 52X (CD-ROMs).
Full success!

I'm very sorry, forgot to say, the soft I used was ALCOHOL 120.
It did a gr8t job.

Yes I can actually, that was the first thing I checked, it runs fine in my Lite on LTD 163 DVD ROM drive

......I did back up "The Sims",SD v1,"The Sims Houseparty","the Sims-Unleashed",SD 2.80.010 with my 48x(fw 1.03) and Alcohol 120% ,just went trough with std SD 2 settings.
