The plextor has posted a firmware update that enables to write 99min insted of just 84min CD-R's

Could someone update the review on cdfreaks website to reflect the changes?

Sorry but I don't think so. Reviews are normally not updated since it would take too much time to do so (every drive we review gets firmware upgrades sooner or later). In future reviews I will link to our firmware database to people can search for firmware upgrades and see if there have been any significant changes.

thats good news...isnt it though still risky to write via overburn?

All you risk is a coaster (there are a few drives which can be screwed up by overburning, but the number of drives which are constructed that badly is limited, and none of the major manufacturers is among them)
