CAV optimization for dvd video backups using discjuggler?

From the discjuggler manual;

If the data disc you are burning is not full,by selecting this option you will allow Discjuggler to generate an appropriate number dummy(empty) blocks at the begining of the recording process thus moving your data as close as possible to the outer edge disc where the read speed is highest.

Will this cause skipping/freezing playback problem when the disc is written full capacity(4482/DVD+R).

What should that be good for?

It moves the data to the outer disc area where the probability of data errors is way higher, especially on low-quality media.

Exactly. And why should one want that to happen?

Because one would gain 5-20 seconds of time during disc reading process ...

Re: CAV optimization for dvd video backups using discjuggler?

That makes sense...
But I thought the discs should be used for videos:

For videos, this trick would be useless, right? Because 1x speed would already be sufficient to watch a DVD.
