| Can't burn CD-R at 4x with 740a? It seems that I can't burn a CD-R at less than 12x with Nero 5.5 (and I did crossreference this with Plextor's datasheet for the 740a - it looks like the minimum burn speed is 12x. I am trying to back up some PSX games and want to burn at 4x. Is there a way around the speed limitation? |

| Re: Can't burn CD-R at 4x with 740a? Welcome to cdfreaks  The drive does not support lower speeds and it makes no sence to burn high speed cds at lower speeds at all, as this will not improve the write quality.

Everything burns like a dream (DVD, PS2, Audio) except for those PSX games. I thought it was standard to backup PSX games at 4x or lower, and I've had a bunch of coasters when trying to do this specific task (they will burn sucessfully and read in my PC, but not in my PSX.) | |
