I have the BTC BDV-316B (OEM) 16x DVD-Drive drive that I want to upgrade the firmware in. My problem is that the firmware (Revision: 1p00 patched region free - Patch by Etna) is in 2 .bin files and I have to merge these files together in order that I can use MTKWinFlash. As I have no floppy drive I can't use the dos version of mtkflash, can someone advise on how I can merge these 2 files together. Any help appreciated as the drive is going to be fitted inside my standalone dvd player which has just messed up.

So there is actually not that firmware on the drive???

If its necessary, you could even use the simple dos copy command to merge those two files together.

copy /? on the commandline

Thanks for the reply, the drive contains the original firmware as loaded by the manufacturer and no I haven't used mktflash before. Without a floppy drive I am also unable to use it now.
I am trying to use the dos command that you kindly posted but so far without success.

To merge such files, you could use

copy /V A.bin /B + B.bin /B C.bin /B
A.bin is file 1
B.bin is file 2
C.bin is target

But maybe mtkflash requires both files seperate so you wouldn't need to merge them anyway.
mtkflash is available for DOS nd windows, by the way.

But make sure you alway read and follow the instruction carefully!
