Why I can not make copy of certain cd - Club CDFreaks

please help. After making backup cd of certain software. The backup cd does not work.

This is typical of a first time backup of what is probably protected software.

What is you operating system?
Burner brand & model?
Title or name of original disc?
Burning proggy name & settings?
Media used?
Hardware setup?

If you used one of the burning proggys highlighted in the Forum (CD Mate or Clone), we'll cut you over to there.

If you used an Adaptec or Roxio product, or indeed, the built in burning software in XP, you're in for an uphill battle of one step forward & two steps back.

If the title is unprotected, like say a Win 9x disc, then it's a hardware issue.

few more options.

try clonyXXL, this will tell if its protected and by what.

if its a game, then its sounds like safedisk or safedisk 2.
depending on your burner, u may have to track down cracks for the games.

(i know thats a no no word here, but the kid has no choice.)
