Whats wrong with my imation 16x dvd - Club CDFreaks

I bought imation 16x compatible dvd but i cant seem to write files in it....They say there no cd in the driver.What shld i do?

There is probably nothing wrong with the DVD. Your drive may not recognize its identification code, and rather than attempt to write to it using a default power level, it wisely refuses to acknowledge that the disc is there. This can happen with older drives limited to 4X or 8X speeds when newer 16X media are placed in them. You will have to identify the model of your drive and its firmware version so that someone may be able to suggest newer drive firmware updates to add the disc's ID code.
