| What are the minimum requirements for movie backup? Exactly what do I need at a minimum in order to "simply" make a personal copy of DVD movies that I own? I have a CD writer on my computer, but my DVD players are all connected to TV sets. I have not been able to make too much sense of things that I have read from the Web because I am obviously technologically challenged in my advancing age!! Can anyone give me the quickest and hopefully cheapest solution? Do I need to use my computer, or are there standalone options for making these copies? Thanks!!! johninboston |

| Re: What are the minimum requirements for movie backup? most computer today will be able to do it. 1GHz, decent hard drive, 80GB 7200, 512MB ram, dvd drive. you can get by with lower spec but it will be slow. it's better to use the computer because you have more control of what you can put on the dvd.
