Only install what codecs you need, this will save you trouble in the long run.

I actually don't know exactly what kind of codecs I need, but I hope I'll find the right ones.

If there are problems, I'll just delete the codecs. This should do the trick right?

Are you having trouble playing any files? Maybe xvid?

You shouldn't bother installing any until you can't play/convert something.

Yea, I have trouble playing some files, mostly .MOV files

You can download and install Quicktime to play .mov files
