| vcd's on an xbox I have heard a rumour that you can play mini dvd's (dvd files on a cdr/rw) on a xbox, is this true also if not does anyone know how to play avi on xbox I dont have a dvd burner but i have heard again that if i convert the avi into a dvd file and burn it to a cd (not a dvd) then it should play on my x box can someone tell me if it is possible and how to do it if it is, or even how to convert a avi to a dvd file so i can use nero to create a mini dvd thanks |

| Hey there garethm1976 , welcome to the forum. As far as i know : A hacked xbox can cope with MPEG , MP3 , VideoCD , SuperVideoCd and DVD playback only. Depending on the bios binaries you have uploaded to the xbox. //update// Just heard you can also use it for DivX , XVid and Ogg Vorbis //end of update// A non-hacked xbox can only cope with DVD. By the way ; I heard a rumour as well. It seems if you use punctiation in sentences , that people don't have to read them fifteen times to understand the question.

| Thank you. I am really gonna have to research on how that is done. My kids just got one. Another thing to back up. I have found allot of info already to sort through, but if I get stuck would you folks on this board mind answering some questions from a newbie? ~Burr |

| No problemo , i just got me a Xbox as well. As long as you keep it legal , it's ok with the cdfreaks forum. I have just ordered a X-Bit modchip (yes , that IS still legal ! Purchasing one...). |
