Technically not true, MPG1 and 352x288 VCD is an DVD standard, just finding a program to do it is the hard part.

Also with DVD-Lab you can make SVCD 480x480 DVD's you will just need to reencode the audio to 48khz

Re: VCD & SVCD 2 DVD WITH re-encoding?

yes, i've been working with dvdlab, so far without real success, as there are several ways to go about it; as i tried them, the prog didnt really react the way the guide said it would. As to the diff ways:use isobuster filtering out M2F2 frames; extracting unfiltered with winiso; 2 cd's so tried joining together first with easy join; tried loading the two files hoping the prog would link them,(BTW, in chickenhead's part of guide, he spoke of easily "linking 2 files together",but durned if could figure out how he meant it; also he refers to using AC3 Machine, i believe, but must be outdated, not on site, but i would still like to get the prog, haven't foud it yet), but for the most part,i only got a couple responses saying files could not be Demultiplexed, unfortunately, the rest of the time the Demultiplex panel didn't leap out and fill up with files either, as per dvdlab guide. I'll likely tackle it tomorrow again, as many of my movies are SVCD and i want to convert to DVD. I just gotta keep working at it, i'm just doing something not quite right. thanks TTYL

Re: VCD & SVCD 2 DVD WITH re-encoding?

Linking the files will probably cause sync issues, it is better to keep the files seperate and in DVDLab make the second file continue playing after the first one has finished, only when playback this will lead to a slight pause, almost like a layer break, but not too big a problem and certainly better and easier than try to link them, the only program that might link them well, and I have heard very good things about is Womble but have not tied it.

Good luck
