troubles-nec nd-3100ad and nero - Club CDFreaks

I am new to the site and not sure if my post should have went in nero or nec drives so here i am{move accordingly please}I have been doing a lot of reading through these{and others} forums trying to find a solution.up untill a while ago i was able to burn cd/dvd with no problems at all{what so ever} but now its anything but.my drive will no longer read dvds{pressed or burnt} and i also cannot burn cds for some reason.

I have nec nd-3100ad 107e drive,am using nero7{was using nero6} as burn program,use playo 8x dvd+r and memorex 8x dvd+r{which i have had many many successfull burns with both brands}

this is my log file from nero,if anybody could help me i would be verry verry happy.read about a program called hijack this that is used for a registry check{i think} well i seen it put out a log file so people could see if stuff was wrong......i think.

just not sure what else to do,looked at drivers for drive and it says all is well,but apparently it cant be.thinking about just doing a whole system format/re install but ive only seen it done so who knows how hard and how long that takes{i remember it being like 8+ hours}

My honest advice: Skip that crap media! Both Playo and Memorex.

i would crap the media exept ived used them many of times with no troubles.
i have found 2.1a update but says needs 1.6-1.9 firmware to update and i cant seem to find any of them not to mention i want to try and solve this problem before i go and possibly start another one.

So i crossflashed to nd-3500a

still not reading dvds{pressed/burnt/blank}
still IS reading cds{pressed/burnt/blank} but still will not let me burn even a cd......hmm..not sure what to do,i think i need somebody that knows what to make of the log file, or if i need a log from a different app to be more help

i just used nero7 info tool and in the aspi tab/system aspi says sytem aspi installation is corrupted{if thats any help to anybody that can help me}

researched it a bit and it appears this doesnt matter{at least for the problem at hand.

well its been a another day and im still not at the route of the problem.
i decided to start with uninstalling most of the stuff i dont use much on my pc,got/ran registry cleaner program,defragged system and registry,ran spyware program just to kinda start from scratch to see if its a deeper problem which apparently it has to be.i also uninstalled the drive and re installed with no luck.still will not read dvds{pressed,burnt,blank} will read cds{all} but still wont let me burn anything.............hmmm......any ideas?

Maybe it's time for a replacement or try borrowing one from a friend to try or try yours in another PC.

Nero has its own ASPI drivers.
