| System slow down when CD is being accessed by CD Drive When a CD is being accessed by my CD drive, running programs slow down, it's like accessing the drive takes most of my system resources. Most noticeable is my media player Winamp which plays the songs slower, about 1/2x. My system specs are: P4 2.4GHZ 512MB RAM Windows XP SP2 Here are my Device Manager -> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller Settings: primary ide channel: device 0 device type: auto detection transfer mode: dma if available current transfer mode: ultra dma mode 5 device 1 auto detection dma if available not applicable secondary ide channel device 0 auto dma if available pio device 1 auto dma if available not applicable
