Sony's Soundforge MP3 plugin 2.0 woes

Greets CD Freaks

I have a problem. I do quite a bit of burning, but my MP3 work has come to a complete standstill. The new MP3 plugin v2 that Sony has upgraded in Sound Forge will not allow me to open or save MP3s. Were I the type of person to use a crack or keygen I would have no luck. Of the hundreds of cracks on the net they all refer to the version 1.0 of the plugin for both Sony and Sonic Foundry versions of the program, and they don't work.

I wish to edit files still in Sound Forge, but I need to convert them from .mp3 to .wav first. Could someone please assist if they know the location of a program which is as acurate as possible in encoding and decoding MP3s? I want to lose as little quality as possible durring the conversion, and still have the ability to choose the quality and size of the final MP3.

Quality is what counts, but I can't pay my life savings to Sony. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

No hacks, cracks, serials are allowed here

Exact Audio Copy could do this (and it's free )

>Start it
>Tools - Compress WAVs / decompress

done

Thanks g3ri

I came to ask you folks because I didn't want to resort to crack - not necessary. After a little research EAC looks to be more useful than I first thought. That sounds like a great solution.

thx
