Which software should I use to make perfect audio CD copy?

Hi everyone,

This is my first day in the forum, so please excuse any silly questions. I will try to wise up as quickly as possible.

I have scanned the forum for some time but still have a problem. I am trying to make a copy of an audio CD, in which the tracks are not separate - the music merges seamlessly from one track to the next. I have tried Roxio Easy CD Creator and Windows Media Player but neither seem able to cope with this AND produce a genuinely perfect copy of the original CD.

I am not interested in compression and MP3, etc. I am looking for a perfect quality copy, keeping it in full CD quality. I don't care how long it takes to make the copy or how pretty the software is. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Windows Media Player produces a stutter at the join of each track.

Roxio produces less of a stutter if I copy it track by track, but still a stutter. If I use the disc copier function it produces a smooth copy but not at full quality spec.

EAC seems to rip the tracks beautifully but still there is a stutter between tracks when the tracks are burned onto a CD-R.

Am I missing something obvious here, because this should be a simple task?

Exact Audio Copy can give you a perfect WAV+CUE format backup, which should be gapless and all when reburnt.

Thanks for this - SPOT ON !!!

I had to use the IMG button though to create the image first and then manually burn the image via from the CUE sheet. It all makes sense when I removed te beginner settings restrictions and gained access to the more interesting stuff in EAC.

Thanks for your help. This EAC is streets ahead in quality reproduction from Roxio EZCD & WMP.
