Saving recoded files ??

Hi to everyone, I am another newbie to this forum, a retired Aussie X bus/coach driver that had to through the towel in early because of some health problems, but have found a new interest in PC's and now trying to work out how to use that Nero software,
I have just burnt my very first movie, but its got me buggered in how to save those recoded files in that form, so if i ever do need to make another one, i
won't have to go through all that recoding stuff again.
I know there is a manual for Nero but the more i read the more confused i get so i am hoping someone could explain it in plain English, if you know what i mean.
thanks in advance

Re: Saving recoded files ??

So, you just mean the Nero SETTINGS?

Too much biography, too little information as to what you have done and what you are trying to achieve with Nero.

...I'm buggered if I know what you're trying to ask exactly. Don't know what your source is, what you are doing with it...etc...meh.

GUESSWORK: Are you using Nero Recode? If Nero asks you if you want to save your project, choose yes I guess. Then you should be able to open the saved project from Nero. Choose to save to somewhere you can find the files again easily like desktop or my documents, you can always move them later. Nero recode isn't very compatable with standalone players in general either at the moment.

If you are converting .avi files and must use Nero, consider Nerovision Express. You can choose to output to a folder on your hard-drive. By default, this will be in Nero's Application Data folders. You won't be able to even find these at all unless you have windows set up to enable viewing of hidden files and folders. Best to choose to output to a folder of your choice therefore instead of the default. Then you have your files wherever you put them, ready to burn again whenever you need.

EDIT: Once you've burnt something to disk, you can always rip it back off the disk to your H/d and burn it again anyway. (Unless you use crap media and the disk goes bad, like say, RiTEK)

Re: Saving recoded files ??

Sorry i have taken so long to get back to you, but it couldn't be helped.

_Chef_, you were on the ball, yes Nero settings.

d_dog, Sorry if i didn't explain myself to good and gave to much biograpphy,i thought the forum suggests that new people introduce themselves and give a little back ground, but looks like i didn't balance it out to good.

I should have said transcoding not recoding, thats were i stuffed up.
Anyway, you done a dame good job of guessing, thats excactly what i was asking, were do i save the transcoded file so i wouldn't have to go through all that transcoding again, as i did try saving another project but couldn't find the bugger again.
So thanks, i know to save it to desktop or my documents for easy access next time.
many thanks
