Re: restore points

For what I know the only thing you can do is to delete all restore points, and not save only the ones you like.

To do this you need to use a software like arconis true image or norton ghost, to create your personal backups anytime you want.

Re: restore points

Windows xp has got a cap on how much hard drive space restore points can use. You can access this information by going to my computer properties, then selecting the system restore tab, then hitting settings (it will be about half way down the new screen). Here you can set limits for yourself the amount of hard drive space alotted for system restore points. Generally having alot of restore points isnt that big of a deal when it comes to system resources (Especially if you have a descent sized drive). If it bothers you, you can always go back into the restore points tab mentioned earlier and turn off the monitoring feature. This should automatically delete ALL restore points on your computer. As far as i know you cant choose which points to keep, you can only delete them all. Restart and then go back into the restore tab and turn the restore monitor back on then do another restart. This should set an automatic restore point as long as the boot is sucessful.

(Edit): Go with what geno888 said for the backups. They both work great.
