| is the quality/brand of my DVD drive going to affect the quality of the rip? Hi, I just had a simple question: I want to save my DVD collection on my HDD by converting them into ISOs, is the quality/brand of my DVD drive going to affect the quality of the rip in any way? I mean don't some drives read more errors than others etc... Thank you. PS: Is converting a DVD into an iso with ultraISO/Winiso and then reading it with daemontools going to work straight away? |

| Re: is the quality/brand of my DVD drive going to affect the quality of the rip? In a nutshell: No. Since its digital media and you are copying it to another digital media there should be no quality loss whatsoever. Reading errrors should result in a retry of the copy process. I'd use DVD Decrypter. |
