Problem with video resolution after burning VCD in Nero 6

I have video files originally in RMVB format that I converted into MPEG-1 format using RM Converter 3.28. Afterwards I used Nero 6 to burn my video files into a VCD format. Before testing the CD into my VCD player, it worked fine playing it in a PC using Windows Media Player. After that I tried playing the CD in my VCD player but the resolution seems too big to fit my TV screen such that the english subtitles couldn't be read clearly. I already tried using the Nero Help option yet none answers my query. Will anybody here please post your ideas about my problem? Please.. I need it badly.. Thanks in advance.

Re: Problem with video resolution after burning VCD in Nero 6

I've found that with VCD movies I need to adjust my TV settings to get the correct display , whereas SVCD/DVD ones will automatically switch the TV to 16:9 or 4:3 as appropriate.
It might just be that within RM Converter that you've used the wrong aspect ratio option, but as I've never used this I don't know what options are available.

Do you mean that by adjusting my TV settings I will get the appropriate display? RM converter only has three output formats (AVI, MPEG, DVD) and only DVD output has the aspect ratio (maximize, 16:9, 4:3).

What other options can I try to solve my problem? Thanks

Depends what your TV is. Mine is widescreen so I've got about 6 settings I can switch to.
If yours is W/S then either the Maximise or 16:9 is probably what you want, but it all rather depends on the A/R of the original file is.

You might have better success by selecting AVI output & using something else to convert to VCD/SVCD, like DVD2SVCD (free of course).
