POWERDVD - watching DVD from HD

Im interested in ripping DVD to watch on my HD when traveling

I am using SmartRipper to take the DVD off -- leaving unwanted streasm (audio and subtitles etc)

I have Powerdvd (from Dell - the lastest version - various guides have be written on how to do this -- they say to press Ctrl O and then select "view DVD on Hard Drive -

my version of PowerDVD does not offer the option when pressing Ctrl O to view file on HD -- it only has the option to view media files?

while I can view files selection all the VOB -- it hickups when moving to the next file selection.

Suggestions to make this easier -- did PowerDVD version 5 eliminate this option?

The most interesting method , I think is divx ,it's easy , small and highly accessable.

First you have to get divx itself to convert the dvd.You can find it here.

http://www.divx.com/divx/?src=toptab...rom_/index.php

Beneath the diagram there's a line that says "Standard DivX Codec(FREE)".Download this and install it.

then you need a program to rip the dvd to HD.I also use smartripper so thats ok. (If you rip a dvd ,always use the largest vobs and the ifo of it.The ifo contains the subtitles for later.)

After it is ripped , you can use simpledivx to convert it.It's verry easy and quick.

here's a link , sorry for the strange language but there's something wrong with the homepage of simpledivx.
http://www.robsuniverse.org/pagine/divxguis.htm
when you have installed it , you will notice that in your startmenu that there the menu simpledivx has been added. In this menu there is a guide.
Use this to know simpledivx.

If you have any additional questions , don't hasitate to post it here.

have fun

SmartRipper, DVD_Decrypt, PowerDVD

To go a little further with this -- before I switch software programs.

I have tried both SmartRipper and DVD Decrypter to rip Matrix to my Hard Drive.

with both programs --- During playback -- In the heavy action scenes there is pixalation, hiccup (1 sec repeat) -- I tried unchecking enable hardware accelerator -- either way no difference ?

any suggestions
